Visit to The Whistle Shop

My wife and I were in Bloomington-Normal
IL over the weekend to attend a conference,
so we stopped in at The Whistle Shop.
Gee, what a lovely place, full of marvelous
whistles. Thom Larson is a really good
fellow who feels about whistles just
the way we do. He went out of his way
to show us all sorts of arcane whistles,
several from his own collection, let
us play them all. Thom is one of us,
that’s for sure. Hugely recommended
for buying whistles, over the internet
or by visiting the place. I bought
a Silkstone alloy C whistle, and would
have bought a Chieftain A—but my
wife is an avid boxer.

That sounds wonderful, Jim! Thanks for the report. I have had wonderful dealings with Thom online. I just got a Silkstone Alloy C from him, too. Isn’t it great?!?

I too recently visited Thom’s domain when I was on a trip to Champaign. Let me tell you, it was such a rush to be surrounded by all those whistles! Thom wondered what I could possibly want to buy (my WhOA having already run through much of his inventory), but I managed to find an item . . . er, or five . . .

And it’s great to know Thom is as wonderful in person as he is via Internet!
