Virtual Session

Some of you are already aware of the Virtual Session but just thought I’d post the link for those who don’t know about it. Kind of fun to interact with. Helps to know how to read music but not necessary.

One of my faves. It’s helped me get ‘up to speed’… well… nearly… on several tunes.

OH MY GOD!!!

Ballyshannon I can’t thank you enough! I never new about this site and it’s everything I’ve been looking for in a transition from solo playing to session playing.

I have a long way to go before I’d even consider trying to join in a session. I’ve been trying to get along by playing with MIDI files, but the sound isn’t very pleasing. I absolutely love this site. I’ve only played along with one song so far, but I really enjoyed it.

Thanks a bunch for giving me something to play around with over the weekend!

Cheers!

John

MIDI files will also teach you bad rhythm. I’d advise against using them if I were you… maybe more experienced players here disagree, but I say if you can find a recording on youtube or whatever, go with that whenever possible.

Love that site. Taught me a lot when I was first playing. Good stuff.

cool!!!

that is pretty much awesome
I think I knew about it before, but forgot, but now i have the website saved, and will be using it often
thanks!

Thanks a million for the site. Endless hours, weeks, months, years of spare time shall be spent on dat site. Brilliant!!!

I made MP3s of the music files and a PDF of the sheet music awhile back so that I could practice offline. You can get these at http://public.me.com/braccio

Pete

Nice job, Pete. Thanks for the link.

Darned nice of you to share that Pete. Thanks!

Sarah

Maybe its just me… Are there twice as many tunes on there now as there were a couple of years ago?

Thanks for the reminder. Hadn’t looked for yonks.

That’s well handy thanks! Will save me a lot of time. I was just saving the swf files for offline viewing but they are handier in individual mp3’s.

Great idea, nice Flash programming, great players and playing…

But there are some boneheaded errors, such as Saddle the Pony music in the wrong key (music in D but played in G)…

Thanks Pete! I grabbed them tonight. IOU!

Hey, TheSpoonMan…

After reading your user name, I couldn’t resist. Have you heard the great Con O’Drisceoil song “The Spoons Murder”?
