This message is primarily addressed to players interested in Baroque repertoire for unaccompanied violin.
Six suites by Silvius Leopold Weiss are now available as violin transcriptions at:
Each PDF file contains a brief Notes section. MIDI files are available for each movement.
I plan to go on for a while with this project, by including at least two more suites in minor keys. I have browsed the remaining suites in major keys and found them less persuasive for a potential audience who haven’t thought of S.L.Weiss as a violin composer.
Any questions and comments are very welcome. And please, do give the suites a try. You may find them a refreshing addition to the small, all too familiar, world of Baroque music for unaccompanied strings.
