I have a half set of Vignoles pipes that I am sorting out for a friend, I can find no sensible place to strap the bellows that does not result either in the drones being where the end of the chanter ought to be; or, by strapping them on lower down resulting in my arm blocking the inlet valve. I have played many a set but have not come across this problem before.
Any ideas?

A photo would help.

Hi Charlie
Does the valve extend high enough above the paddle for you to drill some side intake holes in it, that might solve the sleeve problem.
David
I have discovered that the owner of the pipes has shortened the tube savagely in an attempt to make them playable, this seems to have made the problem worse, I shall try a much longer tube.
Cheers
Charlie.
In the US, you can get 1" ID radiator hose at many automotive supply stores for about $1 a foot. I see you’re in the UK, it’s probably similar over there. Black neoprene or rubber hose, not expensive, sold on a roll and cut to length.
