I’m fairly new to the forum but thought for those interested, this interview clip of John C. Moon might be of interest. Mr. Moon, now in his late 70s or more, joined the Scots Guard at age 14, later to become Drum Major and Queens Drummer. I met him in 1972, as a teen, american fifer, when he handed me a Clark whistle for the first time. I had the added honor of marching behind him this past summer in, as he put it, “perhaps his last go at Drum Major”, in the 50th Anniversary of the Colonial Williamsburg Fifes and Drums Celebration.
