Hello all, Im sure I cant be the only person out there who plays the tunes from old console games? If Im not the only one then if anyone knows of any sites that are aplicable I would be very thankfull.
Also Im sure someone would have some advice
to offer in the following:
I would like to know if there is any sort of rule to adding rolls and such to a tune in order to make it sound good. Some people seem to be able to add little bits and make the music sound magic.
Nope, you’re not the only freak. I love video games myself, and used to download lotsa midi files of old console games and try to play them(Arkanoid, Dragon Warrior, etc). I’ve got a collection of MP3 from the old Final Fantasy II, but it’s played by an orchestra, and since the title of the game is “Celtic Moon”, it really has a celtic flavor as it’s played by flute, fiddle and harp.
There are many sites out there with midi files of video games, but I don’t have a clue about sheet music if that’s what you’re talking about.
If you’re interested in the FFII MP3s, I could upload them to you while I’m in Canada in june. For now I’m in Ireland and they don’t have a clue what’s DSL or cable modems…
