very OT: Samhain and El Dia de los Muertos

I’m going to do a Spanish III speech about the Day of the Dead and it’s similarity to the Celtic holiday of Samhain.

Anyone know of any places where I could find some accurate info about it? Or anyone know about it??

Thanks in advance.

I recently researched this for a friend of mine and here are some web sites with excellent information.

Hope they help you.

This is an excellent site. I wish I had a couple of hours to read all
of it. I’ve scanned a lot of it and think you will enjoy.

This explains the four days of the dead. This is closest to what
I’ve always heard. It also addresses the tradition of dressing in
costume to drive off the lingering spirits.

This one also has a good explanation of the origin of All Hallows
Eve.

Here’s a short one.

The first six questions are pretty interesting.

Wow, thank you! This will help me tremendously with my speech.
