Here’s a quote from Tony in another thread:
“I’ve felt more assured about playing staccato notes here and there for effect (like 6 in a row in a jig). I hadn’t noticed their impact while I was playing” (until I heard myself in a good quality recording).
Interesting comment. By stacatto, Tony, I assume you mean stacatto with the aid of tonguing. Personally I like to get a good “pop” when I tongue a note, which is not 100% according to the conventional wisdom. But I wouldn’t ever go so far as to slip in 6 to a bar in a jig.
Perhaps you could elaborate for us. Better still, can you point us to something on the “tinwhistletunes” site?
Tom.
