I forgot that I had uploaded some of my band’s songs onto the internet. I went back there and realized that the quality of the wma’s were terrible so I reconverted them and got a better recording from the mp3’s. This is good news because now anyone can listen to them without being a member of acidplanet and the quality of the file is better. Here is the hyperlink, I appreciate any input (after listening to them I notice a stark contrast in my playing ability over the past year, my breathing is better, tone is better and ornamentation is better, but input is still welcome):

What are you using to convert your files? If your sampling rate is set correctly, you should always get a better sound out of a smaller file from a .wma file than an .mp3 all things being equal. Now there are others who will contest this with me till they’re blue in the face and on and on ad nauseum…
I use .wma exclusively on the Salt Lake Piping Club site and have not had any reports of problems related to the files in almost a year of heavy downloads of both vid and audio files. We have a page set up to help our new members record tunes etc. and it might have some useful info for you. Then again, it may not.

Hopefully some of it might be helpful. Please bear in mind that the sample rates I have listed there are for web page speed as opposed to outright quality. Regardless of the file type you save in, the higher the sample, the better the sound…and the bigger the file. Another thing to note is that very few work servers block .wma files but more and more are set to block all .mp3s.
