Update - As Promised sfb2- Which Whistle?

Hi,

As promised, I said that I would update how I was getting on after I had asked for advice on buying a whistle as a newbie. Well my post, arrived special delivery, it was like Christmas, I could not get the packaging off fast enough (big Kid!) and there it was my Low D Whistle Susato. I rushed upstairs to a room where I would least annoy anyone, flung open the Whistle tutor books and started to try every note… I promise, I did not play the Low D straight away. I read the literature!

I am now at the stage where I am sight reading music, and the notes are nearly there most of the time, few bleeding ear moments though. The great thing today was that my husand and I played something together today “wearing Green” which was great. I now have 2 other songs that I am working on … so watch this space.

We both went to a folk evening last week, it was a lot of fun. We were actively encourage to take part, but I am afraid to say we were not prepared but listened to others, who I felt respect for, getting up in front of everyone to play, sing or give a poem etc. We promised, that we would do something when we return in a couple of weeks… no pressure! I have been practicing virtually everyday for either 1/2 - 1 hour. I will either clear the room or they will need to have had lots of alcohol.. to appreciate the effort .. me thinks!

I hope that I continue to improve feeling rather excited that I might actually have found an instrument that I could be good at. I will let you know if you are interested how I get on at the folk club. :tomato:
