So who else is planning on going? (besides me)

I think i will be going. I Think theres a concert in the evening hosted by the Blarney Star…This looks like a good day for Pipers!

Actually, the recital or concert, is usually right at the center theater. It usually begins promptly after the workshop and is included in the workshop fee.

Neil

JIMMY O’BRIEN-MORAN and DAVID POWER
Jimmy O’Brien-Moran and David Power, both hailing from the County Waterford, are two of Ireland’s most accomplished and critically acclaimed uilleann pipers. Both are well known among piping enthusiasts for their devotion to art of pure piping. Most uilleann pipers heard in concert these days perform as members of larger ensembles, and most adhere to the fast-paced “open” style of piping made popular by celebrated modern players like Paddy Keenan and Finbar Furey. Jimmy and David look further back for inspiration to the virtuoso solo pipers of previous generations, players who include Séamus Ennis, Leo Rowsome, Seán Reid, Willie Clancy and Patsy Touhey. They play softer-sounding, low-pitched sets of pipes and prefer more relaxed tempos. To accompany the melody of the chanter, they make full use of the neglected chordal possibilities of the uilleann pipes’ distinctive “regulators.” Jimmy, who has a solo CD “Sean Reid’s Favourite,” is the co-author of a forthcoming book on the music of Séamus Ennis. David is launching his debut solo CD. PLEASE NOTE SATURDAY DATE AND 8:00 START TIMEFriday, June 4 at 9:00 p.m.
