Sorry, I don’t know what I was thinking las time, but when I say I am new to town it is Portland and surrounding areas. So, any pipers want to take on a musical student in the Portland area?
Look up Channing. He’s on the forums under the name “The Sporting Pitchfork.” If you look in the Teacher/Student forum, you can see that he has a post saying he’s looking for students. I am taking a flute lesson from him tomorrow. There’s a couple other pipers in town, but I don’t know if they are looking for students or not…
Try hitting the local venues for trad music. That’s your best bet for finding a “teacher” here.
Hmm, depends on what you want to “learn.” For one thing, Channing’s about the only piper you’ll run into anyway.
True. But other than you (not interested), me (not enough time or really interested in teaching right now), or our uncommon pipemaker there’s no one I know gung-ho about teaching pipes specifically in PDX. Plenty of “trad” teachers, though.
