Saw that unknown whistle (Unidentified Fipple Object) yesterday night at our monthly village (Mesquer, Brittany) session. Then I remembered that I had seen this distinctive-looking tuning slide somewhere on the Net. Righto : C&F, Low Whistles : A guide, Ian Lambe.
Looks very shiny, almost chrome-like. Holes average size. From what I heard in soli, the voice is pure–more than I’d care for in the 1st octave–almost flute-like for an aluminum Low D. Sound volume seems moderate to low.
I didn’t play it, so I can’t tell you about back pressure or such things. Uillean piper Pascal Martin did try it, dropped it for a Chieftain, prefered the latter, but quickly got back to his old, beaten up, scratched, super-breathy Low D which appears as an old unsigned Overton (or identical twin). Told me he’d like another Overton, but he’s heard from “reliable source” they’re not made any more. Third guy this month to tell me this in Brittany. I guess it’s the way rumours spread 
I gave him C. Goldie’s whereabouts, and promised I’ll let him try my CG Low C, Pascal’s favorite tonality. If he lets me try one of his U. pipes
