U.P. article in Paste magazine by Jason Killingsworth

I was reading through the current issue of Paste magazine, usually geared more towards popular music and entertainment, and was pleasanty surprised to find an article about U.P’s by Jason Killingsworth. The current issue is focused on international music. Jason is a piper, as well as deputy editor of the magazine. Also mentioned in the same issue (by Jason) is the new recording by Martin Hayes & Dennis Cahill, from which one track, (Jenny’s Welcome to Charlie), is included on the CD sampler included with each issue.
Nice work Jason!
It can be found online at www.pastemagazine.com .
Look for the current online edition, pg. 30.

Thanks for the kind words.

If you have any interest, there’s a recording on the Paste website of me reading a portion of the essay and performing a couple slow airs (“An Buachaill Caol Dubh” & “Aisling Gheal”). It begins about 2/3 of the way through the podcast. If anyone’s curious, I’m playing a Vignoles half set with a Gallagher D chanter.
