I have just found this message board and wondered if any of you can help me find a source for a Txistu in England.
I went to the Basque country years ago with a dance team and later got a vinyl record from a shop in Soho - I have been hooked on the sound since.

I don’t know of a source in England, but you can order one from http://www.susato.com . But on the other hand, why not try a good old English tabor pipe? The fingering is different of course, but the sound is rather similar.

Thanks for that link - I am trying to find an authentic Basque one rather than plastic [banded wood and metal?]- though plastic might do to start off with.
I do play a bit of tabor [though mostly sax and recorder]
