I’m happy.
I had an oboe lesson this evening and my teacher says I can handle playing oboe with the orchestra by fall!!!
She and I played several duets , I was able to sight read the stuff with only a few mistakes and play mostly in tune and my mouth did not collapse after the first tune.
Then I met up with the family at a local festival and my granddaughter and I danced the night away to a great “oldies” band.

Oboe has a lot of vowels for such a short word. I hope it works out for you.
Good stuff in life.
Keep it coming Cow!
That’s the good side of life.
I LOVE the oboe. Rent “Enchanted April” and you’ll hear an oboe score that’s just amazingly beautiful (besides it being a wonderful, sweet movie). If I was younger…

You don’t have to be younger-just a glutton for punishment and frustration. An oboe board I frequent has a whole group of folks that are older players. Most seem to have played some wind instrument in their youth, but some have not. I’ll warn you though, you have to be persistant and stubborn. It takes lots&lots&lots of practice. I’m lasting up to 30 minutes now and starting to hear the beginings of a decent tone before my mouth gives out. This is with daily practice which is good physical excercise in itself- and, a lady on that board said after a couple of years, she looked like she’d had a face lift from using facial muscles not used normally! That’s the added bonus I’m waiting on.
