Hi, I just bought a Sweetone D, seems to be a pretty nice instrument, but it is playing sharp (ok I know I’m just a beginner and it will be a while before I begin to play with others, but the intonation problem is bugging me!) I tried pulling the fipple, but seems to be stuck, I then tried running hot water over it from the faucet, still stuck. Is this thing glued on? Am I just a wimp? Am I totally barking up the wrong tree?

Just pull. Don’t twist. They’re not glued.

I also have a Sweetone D… and the head is rusted onto the body. Damn this Southern weather. If you got one of the bright plastic whistles you shouldn’t have to worry about it rusting, but if you bought one of the unfinished models, try to keep it clean and dry.

The fipple does move, it just moves very gradually! (and with a lot of effort) Problem solved!
