I didn’t know you were from Newcastle Tom, I’m from Lincoln myself. At Willie Week we tent in the same backyard as a brother & sister from Newcastle, Robin who plays concertina & fiddle & her brother Brian who doubles as security on the site with his Rottweiler, Joshua. We used to meet up with some musicians from Newcastle in Sligo. Haven’t seen them for a while though, amongst them there was a mandolin player, a lady who sang, played bodhran, and a quiet man on concertina that sang and I believe lived on the Isle of Man, Pipemaker Dave Shaw used to hang out with them as well.
Hi Steampacket, I know the last three you mention (I think). I don’t get out to many of the festivals over here these days. Too much work and recently an unhealthy interest in photography which seems to be taking over my life (even more than music did).
