I was wondering about the wrong tune last time. It is the tune before Fraher’s jig that I want to know what it’s called. PLayed by Cran on their CD Black, black, black. The HUmours of Ballyloughlin set.
The Kerry jig. I think a version appeared in an piobaire a few years back.
The tune is usually played a tone down, starting on A it comes from Tommy McCarthy and he named it after the man he learned it from, Jimmy Mulqueen’s. i have never seen it named as the kerry jig.
