Tune I'm writing, FINAL VERSION! (hopefully)

Okay, so here’s the real, real FINAL version of the tune, I’m happy with it, and I don’t have any more time to polish it :slight_smile: As I said, this tune is written for a friend of mine, I started with another title but the final title is “The Lovely Spirit”.

hey Az,
I would like to bash your tune a bit, just to do you a favour. But it sounds just great, really, I love it. If you were living closer to me, I would offer you some roses for it :wink:

A lovely little tune you got there Az.
Puts me in mind of “The Monaghan Jig” or maybe “The Trip to Sligo”. I find it very comforting that ITM is being nurtured in such far flung corners of the World.
I will be raising a glass or three to “The Newborn” later on .

Fine jig. I rather like how the descending runs in two parts echo each other without duplicating or happening at the same time.

The current second part feels like a third part to me… (and to a lesser extent, the first part feels like a second part.)

Good tune. Good job. I like it because it is intresting.

Puts me in mind of a newborn calf at the end of it’s first day when it’s figuring out that it can run and jump. :slight_smile:

a nice rythmn, is gunna sound great with a guitar and a goatbeater,
ornaments are tasteful and not overdone,

i had to play it several times, but only cos i liked it

Yes, I’ll modify the tune a little bit, I guess the current two parts should be second part and third part, I’m gonna have to work on the first part on sunday, and maybe make the second part (first on the clip) a little bit better.

Well, I woke up this morning and made a few changes to the tune, added another part, etc. I’m pretty happy with the final version, as I wasnt really pleased which the first part I wrote yestersay, I scrapped it.

But you know what, my tune keeps on changing, I can’t settle on a final version. I don’t think I’ll ever be a good tune writer as I can’t complete them :slight_smile: I remember trying to write short stories a few years ago and it was the same, couldnt finish them.

Anyway, I think I got it right now, the tune has four parts hehe. Will wait a bit, play it a bit, make sure I like it, and post the final ( :roll: ) version, for those interested.

you know no tune in the traditional field is ever final!! It’s all just variations.

I just changed the first part, AGAIN, update the above ABC, but NOW I think I’m happy with it… I’m playing it a few times through abcmus and I think I like the four parts.
