Found the words to this song and it sounds perfect for the WhiskyTones. Anybody know of an mp3 or midi or even just a lead sheet? It’s on some old LPs that I saw reference too but nothing current.. I tried Mudcat btw.

Would appreciate it. The song starts with:

It is a really fun song. I know the melody, but I’m having trouble notating it. I’ll get it to you as soon as I figure out how to write it down. Which lyrics to you have? There are tons of variations.

yes, roberts and berrand have recorded it, can’t remember what album it on or anything though.

the song was very popular in the 1920’s in cork.
jimmy crowley revived many cork song on his album “the boys of fairhill”, it’s on there aswell.

I’m 99% sure the album was called 'Live at Holstein’s. It was in the pre-CD era. I don’t know if it was ever re-released on CD. It was a great album, full of hilarious songs. I particularly liked ‘Ode to New Jersey’, and the one about the cow-puncher where the audience fills in the rhyming endings to the lines.
