My tenor drone appears to have a 3/16 bore on both the standing joint and the sliding section. With reed length and i.d. changes I can only get the drone to tune down to Eb and with the sliding joint/top section hanging on the edge of the standing joint..
Question is, Will it tune down to “D” if I sleeve the standing joint down,or open up the bore.
Lengthen the tongue of the reed to tune it down by moving the bridle. This will tune down the drone without having to modify anything else. Move the bridle in small increments of about 1 mm. You’ll be surprised how little it takes.
