I would really like to listen to/possibly participate in some ITM sessions in the Triad NC area…especially Winston-Salem.
I’m often envious of folks who live in areas that have lots of people of Irish extraction. I think there are only a handful of “chiffers” in this area. Hopefully there are some musicians who play ITM on other instruments.

Total non-sequiter alert: “Triads” is the term used in Hong Kong for Chinese criminal gangs (think: Chinese Mafia). When I saw your topic I got the strangest mental image.

Actually, it’s called the Triad because 3 neighboring cities, Greensboro, High Point and Winston-Salem form a triad on the map. Not to be confused with the “Triangle” formed by Raleigh, Durham and Chapel Hill, NC…or with the “Tri-Cities” made up of Bristol, Kingsport and Johnson City, TN.
Hey, the marketing folks had to come up with some kind of creative name!

Not quite in the triad, but check out the The Loch Norman Highland Games this weekend. The jams there were pretty good last year.
