Does any one know from experience if a Waltons little black whistle head fits on the reg Waltons brass d and or a nickel Gen d ? I over tweaked both and thought I’d give this a try if it’s possible. The Gen d was I believe, one of the few really good right off the the shelf whistles I’ve heard about.I couldnt resist tweaking though and feel like I just shot and killed the last Dodo.

Well I’m not sure about how one head fits on another whistle, but you can maybe fix the dead one. I overtweaked both my whistles until no sound came out at all, and still somehow managed to resurrect them.
Yeah, they do. The LBD I have is the only regular size walton head I’ve managed to do a good job tweaking on, and it sits on top of a feadog body now.
And you might take a look at the tweak threads. I killed three befor I took the plunge. It’s addictive.

Thanks VomitB and jilky. I have read the threads but I was hoping for a quick fix as I tend to over do the tweaking. I’ll be ordering the LBW heads now that I know they fit and hope I dont get carried away modifying those. The plan is to slap them on and leave well enough alone but probably wont be able to resist. I’m sure this will change the tuning but I play solo tout l’temp so it doesnt really mattter. I have a large set of very sharp dental tools I sometimes use on my wood carvings and I’m curious too see how they work on fipple heads. I hope to get my son to help me post a sound clip when I’ve hopefully restored the whistles to playability.

Keep the heads you screw up. Someone will want them. Oh yes.
I’ll be keeping the screwed up heads to further my tweaking education and hopefully will make them playable again and hopefully spare the LBW fipples death by tweak. I’m just full of hope today , ain’t not ?
