Er … I’m sure that was very impressive when you played it Rob … trouble is, it seems to just revert to the Goodle guitar. Am I not doing something which I should be doing? Oh, and have you found out what the little box thingie is that goes red when you click on it? It doesn;t seem to do anything else …

That’s the RECORD button, so it is/was possible to record playing the Google guitar. Where the recordings then go, I don’t know.

“O-of all the [something] e’er I [word] I [word] them in good com-pa-neeeee…” (I really don’t know the words all that much). That’s the part of the tune, the beginning, that I heard. That was all there was of it for me.

Rob, you really need to get a metronome and tackle that issue first. We’ll talk about your chords all in good time.

Oh, cool! Just draw your cursor across any string and you get a note. Duh on me.

When you hit the record button a second time, it stops recording. The display window will then show a little “Play” button, in the form of the usual triangle.

I only wish it showed the movements of the pointer. You’d get seasick!

Rob

Press play button, as above. Here’s one for you, mate.

Now that is weird. Last night, honest, when I followed Rob’s link, it didn’t play anything. This morning, yep, The Parting Glass is there. Cool. I wish I’d worked out the record button yesterday.

Seems to be pretty browser dependent.
I had to open it in IE to get the play button
or even to get any sound of the thing myself.

Oh that is awesome! I think I’ll try that.

Oh for goodness’ sake! I’ve only just got that. And then only because my SO told me the answer. Thanks Rob.

Ooh look! I can play a tune, Ma!

Did you do that with the keyboard? I didn’t know it could be done like that…mine was done with the mouse. I thought that was Google’s joke on the world.

Rob

Numbers 1 - 0 (in that order) play all 10 notes on the Google Guitar. Good, uh?

yeah, that as well as letters Q to P, A to ;, and Z to /  much handier if you wanna play chords and melody at the same time (dang, why am i hooked on this thing..)

Ooh! I didn’t know about the letters as well! Thanks.

Of course your Google guitar traditionalists, your purists, mind, would never stoop so low as to use the keyboard.
