I have an extra original syn that I would like to trade for a new syn as everyone seems to be saying he has changed his design. As most everyone knows (or at least everyone has told me), the old syn has a lot more back pressure and the ability to really push the whistle and it responds well. I think I would liken to a chieftain as opposed to a Burke or something along those lines. I have heard that the new design is much sweeter and might not have the same amount of back pressure that seems to dictate how hard you can push the whistle. If someone wants to trade across, I am game. Shoot me an email.
I wonder if the maker would be willing to trade with you directly, since you got an early model…
All this talk about “a Syn for a Syn” and “original Syn” somehow makes me think of the Pentateuch.
I just got my new Syn, but it has been personalized by Erle with “StevenNorCal” and so it is not available.
Another reason I would not trade it is that this has now become one of my wifes two new favorite whistles. The other is the Lancewood Syn that I received in the same order.
