i am getting a new set of dave williams in d in feb 2003 they will be all steel and black no ivory mounts.i am trying to find a small enough tracker to go in the bag or maybe the stock.there costing£4500 and i orderd them 3 years ago,i know a few people who have had pipes pinched mostly from cars my cousin noel carberry had his pinched in dublin, in 2001,micheal mcgoldrick had a set pinched from his car in manchester but he got them back.you have to watch them like a hawk, but with a tracker you will be able to locate them.i also have a flat set i am selling next year in c .and a spillane chanter in d.

Hello Danny. A tracker may be a good idea, but it would need to be small enough not to be noticed by a potential thief. Best advice is not to leave them anywhere where you can’t keep an eye on them.Definatly don’t leave them in your car for any length of time.
Look forward to seeing your set from Dave,Chain it to your arm!

This sounds really goofy but a friend of mine;with whom I have since lost contact, helped a company in Silcon Valley develope a tracker/transmitter used to track whales. It was a small maybe 6"x6" pathc of metal with a thin transmitter and a strong adhesive backing. It worked well enough for whales, but went into mass production when the brewing industry discovered it was ideal for keeping track of beer kegs. The metal keg acted as an antena thus making borrowed or rented stray kegs easier to find. Perhaps if you called a brewery distributor and got one of these, you could place it on an inconspicuous spot on a metal pipe case. As I said, it sounds goofy but it may work.
