I came across a great site recently called the Couch Exchange

It’s a database of musicians and music-lovers of all genres who offer their support to touring musicians in the form of: their couch.
If you’re touring through a city and need a place to crash, this is a good place to look.
It’s a very secure system and the people I’ve met so far are really nice. A good option for the musician on the go!
Hmm, I wonder if any of these folks are willing to take in guests with large size dogs?

Loren, some of the hosts do take dogs - you can see their profiles online which show how many people they take, whether or not dogs/cats/canaries are allowed, smoking/non-smoking, etc.
