Tony Dixon Low D - a tip

Dont know if this has been mentioned before, but I had this experience with the Dixon Low D.
It seemed to leak air from the joint between the two parts of the flute. This made the sound a bit weak; off tune and the lowest notes not easy to get stable and with some body. At a point the leakage was so bad that I felt it on my wrist. So I put some tape around the joint, and Voila! The low end has mor ebody to it and the whole instrument suddenly produces a clearer, more vibrant tone. It sounds even more beautiful than before.
And it took me 6 months to discover this…yipes…

Best regards,
Eivind

I seem to have trouble with the E and D on my Dixon Low D. They’re weak or not there at all.

Any suggestions?

Thanks, Walt
