Aye, the Bb ebonite Potter is an interesting looking stick, also the 4 key Bb Boosey Pratten. Then there’s the 8 key Willis sans tuning slide. I’ve never heard of Wafford before. Nice to see photos of these flutes. I was surprised to see that the old silver flutes could command such high prices, the Louis Lots etc. Years ago I brought an old French silver flute at an auction, an open holed LeBlanc - wonder if it has any value today.

10 quid!!! If I’d only known, I just binned it together with a couple of those old wooden Rvdall & Ross flutes, ten minutes ago. I’ll go down to the bins and see if it’s still there. I was fed up with having these old flutes lying around, taking up room in the bookcase, the LeBlanc and a couple of those old fashioned black wooden flutes, Rvdalls or whatever you call them. Could never get a sound out of them, nice wooden boxes though, I’ve saved the boxes for my crayons and pencils.
Oh pants… it was the box I was really after!
