Today is THE day!

Well, this afternoon my 19 year old Navy guy, Nate, will be marrying Madison. As I mom, I am thrilled, scared, nervous, happy… I’m sure you get the idea!
This is a HUGE production (thank goodness I’m not the mother of the bride!). Eight bridesmaids (I told Madison to STOP - Nate doesn’t have that many friends and we’ll be pulling homeless people off the street) and 2 flower girls.
And for you that know me, you can just IMAGINE the problems I had finding a dress for this occasion!!! And Tom actually bought a SUIT!!
Tom and I will be playing “If” by Bread during the prelude. I know Madison is the one who insisted we play - I seriously doubt Nate did, although maybe being gone from home for over a year has changed his opinion of our playing!!

We’ll be posting picture on our website, and I’ll let you know the page when we do.

So here’s to two very special young people. May they have a long and loving life together (but they can wait a bit to give me grandkids!!!).

Congrats! I’m sure it will be a very special day, especially if Tom can actually sing If as high as David Gates did.

So young! I wish them every happiness, and congrats and calm nerves to you Mom.

djm - we do NOT sing! We just play the dulcimers. Believe me, you would not want to hear us sing. And Tom actually is a baritone/ almost bass, so that wouldn’t work anyway!!!

Emm - yes, they ARE young. If it was any other kid, I’d say too young. But we’re talking the boy that age 12 decided he was going to be an aircraft mechanic, and has lived his life accordingly. He KNOWS himself very well. If he has decided Madison is who he wants to spend his life with, she is the one.

Awesome!!!
Congrats all around!!! :pint:

Great Stuff! Hope it all goes well!

Best of Life to them both, and calm, cool, collectedness to you… well… some, anyway.

Let me get thist straight, your boy is marrying the capital of Wisconson (aka Mad City)? :open_mouth:

Apparently he has high aspirations

Congratulations to you all Missy! What a wonderful thing…and marrying young can be a good thing (I was just barely 20  ).

Congratulations and best wishes to all involved.

A couple I went to school with, same class and everything , married around that age and now have five grandchildren. They are both the same age as me…wow!

Slan,
D.

Congratulations to your son and his new wife, Missy! I wish them all the best!

Congratulations and my admiration! Being 19 myself, I couldn’t imagine being married. I’m much too self-involved. A lifetime of happiness to both of them.

Congratulations. I hope you have a great day and they have a great life.

Congratulations! (and I agree with you, some folks really do know themselves at a young age) I was 18 when I marrried and we just celebrated our 35th anniversary last week, so I know it can and does work.

Oh, but the waiting for grand-youngins- that’s what I use to say, till I had one- they are the best part.

Congratulations to you and yours Missy! What a great day!
