Chiff and Fipple Dreams I’ve had (starting with last night’s):
I lost my purse in London and Martin Milner tried to help me find it (sorry I was so crabby, Martin, but you did lead me to expect you knew where it was).
I found a CD on my piano music stand called "Ornamentation from Around the World’ that glauber sent me, and I realized in horror I never thanked him for it. (There’s no such CD, btw.)
I read and was much enlightened by a post Nanohedron composed called “Where I Am in My Flute Playing.” (I already wrote about this one on the board somewhere.)
No, I don’t think so. I guess that’s a good thing?
And I’m sure if I did it would be that I had to play The Mason’s Apron in front of Peter Laban and my fingers wouldn’t move.
I dreamt that there was a large fish, with a Copeland in his right fin, and he put it to his giant fish lips and bubbles came out. But then tiny sea horses, dressed like Irish dancers, started doing a set dance to Rodney’s Glory, and I pulled out my whistle, but it was clogged, being underwater and all, and I put my finger over the windway and blew to clear it and blew to clear it and blew to clear it, and it wouldn’t clear. So I looked over and saw a reverse aquarium, like in Spongebob where the squirrel lives, and I went inside and remarked how odd it was there was no airlock, and I started playing my whistle inside the air filled glass dome. Except no one could hear me so I pressed the end of the whistle against the glass, knowing full well that sound doesn’t come out of the end, and I played and everyone heard just fine. But the fish with the Copeland changed to Toss the Feathers, which I don’t know, and a lobster brought a tuba, and a dozen sea anenomies wearing kilts were beaten up by a bunch of sharks in Notre Dame sweatshirts. And then I saw an ad for a car on a plasma TV and Bono was hawking Chevys while Britney Spears had her baby on picture-in-picture. Then it got weird.
Last night, though, I dreamt about Barney Frank, the congressman from MA. I met him in a restaurant and he made me pay for his food. I sat beside him and the girl who took my order made fun of me saying that I was flirting with Barney Frank (eww), but I actually wasn’t; I was just sitting beside him to get to know him. I bought a salad and I only ate the black olives, which were not sliced as usual, but whole. Then Barney Frank left and I was still there with the salad.
Sorry Carol, but I had narrowed the search down to two possible places:
exactly where you dropped it
or
somewhere else
and I thought I was being helpful!
Oddly, this dream may have presaged the event of yesterday, when I left my debit card in a shop after my purchase. Luckily I was able to return ten minutes later and reclaim it before the shop shut.
