Thanks for your wishes. My thoughts are with the fallen who purchased a very good life for me by their sacrifice, directly and indirectly. Unlike certain past leaders, I don’t “loathe” the military, I honor them.

Those who have served in the sincere belief that they were doing what was right have my great respect.

Those who served knowing or suspecting that they were not doing right, but who sincerely believed that they had no choice because ‘following orders’ was their duty have my sympathy.

I do not loathe the military indiscriminately; nor do I honour them indiscriminately.

Here’s to peace.

Memorial Day is the day that we US citizens honor our war fallen. But along side the US troops who fell, let us Americans not forget the those brave souls from Canada, Europe and elsewhere who have fought and died side by side with the US to insure a better life for us all world wide.

To the survivors of all the conflicts, in the US and abroad, I thank you from the deepest level of my heart and soul, for the ultimate service you have done me and the free peoples world wide. You shall not be forgotten in my heart, and are never far from my thoughts.

I ought to busy myself making flowers to put on the graves, otherwise will wind up doing Decoration Day with silk flowers from the hobby shop.
