I don’t have a picture, but it’s basically just a wedge-shaped slice of PVC. pretty brilliant, if you ask me. it works wonderfully.

does not look much by itself. But I think a wedge should be in every cylindrical PVC flute. The correction in the upper octave intonation should not be missed. I recommend to Doug to make it standard.
It should be noted here that Doug says that these are not easy to make. He recently sent me one of his high Bb flutes to test-drive, and I’ve found that it could really use the wedge, especially above the 2nd octave (fife range).
I own a dimpled-bore low-D, and the wedge is unnecessary to get the 2nd octave in tune (for some magical reason that no one has yet to explain completely), but the smooth-bored high Bb definitely needs a little something.

You can compensate with embouchure to get the 2nd octave in ttune without the wedge, but with the wedge, there’s no need to compensate. Also, though tone is better, which I believe is due to the overtones being in tune.
