hi, i’m fairly new to the tin whistle and was wondering if anyone could recoomend some websites with good tin whistle tabs/ free sheet music. In particular i am looking for the music for two modern songs, devils dance floor by flogging molly and faraway coast by dropkick murphys, any ideas???
Try http://www.thesession.org/. It’s trad with some modern jigs, reels, waltzes, etc.
There is sheet music (printable gifs) but no tabs–and another forum you could dip into.

whats the best to start playing if you are fairly new to tinwhistle?? reels, jigs, hornpipe etc ?? or does it make no difference
Hi benjobanjo—I think these websites have nice whistle tutorials that have a selection of tunes. I don’t think it matters what type of tune you play when you start out. Just play it slowly and accurately and make sure it’s a tune you like.
