I have this new whistle. Some people will love it and some people will hate it. Hmmmm… Sounds like its time for a tour!
This tour is just for fun. I am allocating 2 whistles for it. If you want to be in the list, send me an email (not a PM) at chuck tilbury at gmail dot com.
This will be a normal tour. Keep it for a few days and send it on. I do not really care about getting feedback or selling any of them. I do not really want to send any instruments overseas. I have had problems almost every time I have tried it. I would also like to find an administrator for the tour to keep it moving. I don’t have much time to do that because of the day job.
Here is a link to a thread that has some pictures and a (really bad) video of me trying to play the thing.

All the best!
Chuck’s agreed to a UK tour. If you’d like to be involved (and live in the UK) please send me an email: mike.clifford@nottingham.ac.uk
Bump… Bump…
The tour list closed on Monday night. Plenty of room left!

Chuck - I know you said you didn’t (necessarily) want reviews, but I just gotta say that this is your best yet! I owned one of your original aluminum versions and liked it, but “upgraded” to a Burke and sold yours to a guy in Russia.
To all: Chuck’s new whistle has a unique (at least to me) tone in the low register and is really good on pitch. It’s a little airy in the upper octave, but in a nice way! It kinda looks a bit like a Copeland, which I haven’t played, so both of these may be common in whistles that have, for want of a better term, “dented in” blades. I was surprised to see how heavy it is - I assumed Chuck would use brass stock, but it’s obvious that he turns these from bar stock (at least it seems that way to me).
There are a couple of cosmetic issues, which I sent to Chuck, but overall this is one helluva whistle for an asking price (quoted as $80) that’s less than half of the other competitors!
Pat
P.S. Whoever is next won’t get it for a week or so - I’m going to take it to my Monday session for further evaluation.
I’m next. Don’t be such a tease
Best wishes.
