Any opinions? I need a C whistle for playing in church. I’ve tried to convince Mr. Sweet to make one, to no avail. I didn’t like the pure sound of the Burke. I like some chiff. It has to be able to be pushed a bit.

Thorntons aren’t really known for their chiff… they’re a bit pure and quiet.
Hoover head on a Gen C body would be my recommendation.
Where would one find such an animal?

Deb, what other whistles do you play in church? I’m playing more often now myself, and I’m on the hunt to upgrade my whistles rather than borrow from a gracious friend every couple weeks. (She has O’Riordans, which are quite out of my price range, if any could even be found for sale

Simply email Mack and tell him what you want.
Mack Hoover made 3 great sounding Whitecaps for me and one of them was for a C Feadog, but Mack made them to be quiet at my request so I can’t comment on how a louder Whitecap sounds.
I have 6 of Jerry Freeman’s tweaked whistles which are superb so I would try a tweaked Generation C. I also have a Parks Every with C & D barrels which should also do the trick.
I tread on dangerous ground here, but a C Susato may also be an option.
I’m thinking of one of Freeman’s whistles. That could fill the bill without breaking the bank.
