Hello all,
Though he has not been active on this board and has had
differences with some here I thought people might like to
know that Thom Larson of the Whistle Shop suffered a
serious heart attack a week ago and had quadruple
by-pass surgery. He is now still in the hospital but hopes
to be released soon. Whether or not he checks the
board I’m sure many here wish him a full and speedy
recovery. I certainly do. Thought some here might
like to know.

Just so happens I’m currently doing a nursing clinical rotation on a cardiac care unit, and it truly is amazing what medicine can do for this condition these days. The outlook for cardiac patients is better than ever.
Thanks Mike for letting us know. People shouldn’t suffer in isolation, especially people who have done a lot for what brings us together here.
Prayers and wishes of recovery for Thom. Thanks to modern medicine, this is often a very recoverable state and the good doctors can be incredible with their treatment. A close friend of mine had similar surgery at age 42, followed by carotid clean-out. He’s had a few episodes, but that was 20 years ago and he’s still alive and kickin.
