OK, you have all heard them, those tiny bits of advice and encouragment that help you get through the day or even through life itself. Things like: “Look both ways before crossing the street.” or “Don’t take candy from strangers.”
I know there are some good ones out there. What are the little snippets of advice that you have found useful. Make them whistle related, or music if you like as well.
Always sprinkle pepper in your hair.
Always sprinkle pepper in your hair.
‘Cause then, if you are kidnapped by a wild barbazoop,
Who sells you to a ragged hag who wants you for her soup,
She’ll pick you up and sniff you,
And then she’ll sneeze. (“Achoo!”)
And say, “My tot, you’re much too hot. I feel you’ll never do!”
And with a shout she’ll throw you out, and you’ll run away from there,
And soon you will be safe at home a’sittin’ in your chair.
If you always always always always always always
always always always sprinkle pepper in your hair!
Moxy: When I worked for the defense industry, I spent time in South Africa. I was there while Nelson Mandela was in prison. What I experienced in that country defies description. Nelson Mandela is one of my heroes.

Hey Byll - That must have been quite an experience for you… My roommate gave me a bit of plastic with that written on it, it came from the back of a juice box, believe it or not! The things you can get from juice boxes…
It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop (old Zen saying–particularly helpful for frustrated musicians).
Carpe diem (an oldie but goodie)
Never mix, never worry (for all us drinkers)
And my absolute mantra:
If you bring forth that which is within you,
What you bring forth will save you.
If you do not bring forth that which is within you,
What you do not bring forth will destroy you.

I dunno if there’s a saying that conveys quite this, but almost all the time, it requires no more effort to be nice to someone than to be nasty, plus you wind up feeling better after you’ve been nice.
