Why on earth not? That’s supposed to be Jacob, yes? And according to my James version, “He prevailed”. Until the other guy fought dirty, touched him up and dislocated his leg. And the James version doesn’t mention an Angel, but says that Jacob “called the name of the place Peniel, for I have seen God Face to face.”
So he got blessed by God and a dozen pages in the old testament.
Mind you, the moral of that tale as far as I’m concerned is “Yahweh fights dirty”. And the average human could beat him in a fair fight…
I’m not saying it didn’t do Jacob any good, but it just doesn’t in general seem like a good idea.
