WOW. The baseball trading deadline was yesterday, and I can’t remember a flurry of activity like this. It’s not that there were so many trades, but the big names involved.
Manny to the dodgers and Jason Bay to the Red Sox in a three-way trade.
Pudge to the Yankees.
Junior to the White Sox.
Mark Teixera to the Angels.
There was plenty of activity earlier in the month, too. This will make for an interesting couple of months.
HAH! Jason Bay has already scored a run for the Red Sox, and Manny hasn’t even laced up his spikes for the Dodgers.
In all seriousness, I agree with dwinterfield. I’m a native Nutmegger who bleeds Red Sox red. A week ago if you’d told me the Sox were trading Manny I’d have said they were crazy. Two days ago if you’d told me they weren’t trading Manny I’d have said they were crazy. There are many things I like about the guy, mostly his work ethic – not the in-game, but the hours and hours he spends in the batting cage, studying film, messing with pitcher’s heads. But his clubhouse antics are something I can do without.
