The Sutato Low D and Tick-Tock

Here is the reel “The Gravel Walk” on my Susato Low D:

I have a lot of fun with this; in the C section of the reel if I tongue hard (as I do here), you get a little “blip” where the note hits the upper octave for a fraction of a second. In this reel, it gives a kind of “tick-tock” effect, which I think is neat.

Sounds real good.

Yeah, very nice. I like the effect. Seems that good stuff can come out of a Susato after all!

Thank you both for your kind comments!

I have a kind of love-hate relationship with that whistle, but it’ll actually play very well, on the days my hands are up to the challenge.

Best wishes,

James,
That’s great! Your playing has improved a LOT, especially your rhythm. Way to go man.
Best,
Chris

Thank you kindly. I’m a little further down the road, but it’s a long, long road, and none of us ever really see its end.

Best,
