The Open, Wooooo Hooooo!!!!

It’s time again for the Open, anyone here going to watch?

For those of you with AOL, here’s a link to live coverage.

Oh, and for those of you who have cable in the states, TNT has live coverage.

Golf? Sorry, not my idea of a spectator sport.

Here’s your golf, JES. :stuck_out_tongue:

Yes, that is a typical result after my hitting a duck hook… a la Jack Nicholson.

Sports that might be enjoyable for the players, but are really boring to watch:

Golf
Bowling

Any other candidates for the list?

(I should probably add that I find most sports boring to watch, including baseball, football, basketball, soccer, etc..)

pool/billiards
darts
baseball

Where I sit in my office, I look out on the tee-off to the first hole of the 9-hole course, the 18 is across the street. I don’t golf, but as i walk around the main part of the 18-hole course every day, I see a lot of golfing.

It is a hard sport to do well. A lot of people may hack at it, but I respect the good ones.

A good walk spoiled. (Mark Twain)

Tiger just eagled 18 to go -5, one shot back.

Sweet.

Yes, that was sweet.

You ought to give it a try someday. It is far more of a workout than most give it credit for. If one isn’t too concerned about the score, the game is a blast.

Monty’s playing gash :frowning:

At least Els is making it interesting for Tiger. I’ve nothing against Tiger Woods but I prefer to see a competition rather than a coronation. It’s the same reason I dislike Michael Schumacher and Ferrari.

I really thought that this was going to be Monty’s year, and what a great way it would’ve been to win a first major.

I am a huge fan of Woods, have been since his amateur days, but even I would like to see others do well. I hate to say it, but I am tired of Tiger this and Tiger that.

On the other side of that coin, I am happy to be watching some pretty big history being made during my adult life time, within the sport I love most.

Last year was Spanish Fernando Alonso F-1 world champion, This year Ferrari is pushing hard, but Alonso’s still leading the chart.

Schummacher and Ferrari attitude is a bit arrogant sometimes, but guys, he is The Pilot.

One of the reason’s why last season was the best for years. This season has lacked a 3rd team to mix thigns up a bit. I’d hoepd McLaren and Honda would be able to keep up with Renault and Ferrari but that just hasn’t happened (Honda have gone h=backwards at an astonishing rate in fact).

Looks like round four is going to be a cliff hanger. Woods and Garcia, Els and DiMarco. Time to start laying down wagers.

I’m also going to have to get these out of storage.
