The Music of the Whistle

A Poem
by Aaron Walden and Mack Hoover

With pounding heart to guide the music’s beat,
And gentle breath to sound the whistle’s tones,
Enjoined to gather in a melody so sweet,
And capture what imagination owns.
Light up the fires that dormant lay inside,
To scent the air with music’s sweet perfume,
Land on the ears and long with us abide,
Bedeck the aural garden with your bloom.
Resounding through the pages of the night,
To brighten up the manuscript with light.

I just asked about you, Walden.

I like it! Very much!

Littlejohngael added a great stanza, making this into a sonnet!

Soft as angel’s breath upon the soul,
A salve to soothe the savage breast,
A draught of peace from Heaven’s bowl,
To set the burning sun to rest,

Resounding through the pages of the night,
To brighten up the manuscript with light.
