The MIM in Phoenix Arizona

If you ever get the chance, check it out, it was amazing. They currently have a massive flute exhibit. They display instruments from literally every country. They have an original Rudall and Rose.

Went there a couple of times in the last year to see the special Stradivarius exhibit when it was happening.

It’s definitely something that should be on every musician’s bucket list.

Love that place. There is another musical instrument museum in Vermillion SD that I want to check out some time.

Whenever you’re over this way, try MIM Brussels, a long established wonderful institution.

And if you make it that far Antwerp’s Vleeshuis museum is almost just over the road.

I was just at the Music Museum in Vermillion today. I think it’s much smaller than the MIM in Phoenix

Thanks for the inside skinny!

My wife, away traveling, just sent me this, from yet another museum. I tack it onto this thread for want of a better place.

Is that guy just really, really short or is that one heck of a low key flute? Just kidding, but I’ve never understood walking stick flutes…they must have been seriously robust in nature to not break easily.

Michael knows my opinion- the bagpipe exhibit needs some corrections done.

(BTW one of my sisters lives not far from MIM, making it convenient.)
