Would that be “The lonesome Boatman” by Finbar Furey? If so, try thesession.org , or just google it (in quotes).

i’ve looked at the music while listening to the mp3 and they do not seem to corespond I found the mp3 at the Roots Listening room, maybe i will have to sit down with my whislte some time and figure it out the old fashioned way

If it doesn’t seem to correspond it’s probably because the mp3 and the sheetmusic are in different keys.

There are two versions in Hannigan and Ledsam’s “The Low Whistle Book” pages 90-91

Lonesome](http://yar.folk-music.ru/mp3/sheep03.mp3%22%3ELonesome) Boatman - this is my favorite version of the tune. The band is Old Horned Sheep - one of the first folk bands of St. Petersburg, which doesn’t exist now.

http://www.thesession.org/tunes/display/6195 - here’s the sheet music. As for me, the tune is really hard to play - it is not too sticky, and it does not sound great by itself - it’s up to you to make it sound.
