Hi guys, anyone going to the Irish music Festival, some good gigs, and playing on Friday evening 11th is the Michael McGoldrick band + Tom Napper, 
should be a great night, just bring your pipes along and join in the open gigs on Saturday and Sunday, should be a excellent weekend for music, ale & stout.

I’ll not be taking my pipes as I’m still at the lower octave stage of learning and pretty rough with my timings and squeakings

The Events section of the website says details will be posted shortly but there is not too much time left. Are there any sessions for UP beginners ?
i’m assuming that there aren’t any sessions aimed squarely at beginners. The feeling that I get from the web site is that it is for musicians that have a fair degree of competency. I’ll just be happy listening. It may be worthwhile trying to get some beginners sessions laid on for next year assuming that it’s going to be an annual event.

at Festivals like this, you meet other players and person’s whom can help you,and you you also learn the music culture, see ya you there.

part of Leeds city, tonight, but there are more gigs tomorrow. 
I went to Selby last night to see, Finbar Fury, Excellent night, sure is a lot going on this weekend in the Leeds area, all the best. 
The Leeds Gathering was a great success last weekend, 
great gigs over the weekend,looks like there might be an other next year,I hope so,there was some great music at this gathering, hope to see some more of you guys there next, all the best.
It was a great weekend, good tunes and a good time had by all. A big success for Irish Music Project in Leeds.
Hopefully we’ll see some more pipers at next years event…???
Also don’t forget the ‘regular’ sessions hosted by IMP at the Skyrack in Headingley on a Tuesday night from 9.30pm and also at the Pointer in Sheepscar on a Friday, again from 9.30pm onwards.

Before I forget, regarding sessions in Leeds, there is a new one starting on Sunday nights at the New Inn in Headingley. I won’t be down this week, but maybe next…
Quick sessions in Leeds update - it appears that the Pointer on friday nights is only happening on a monthly basis - more info when I get it!
The regular weekly sessions are now The Skyrack, Headingley on Tuesday nights, 9.30pm, and the New Inn, Headingley on Sunday nights 8.30pm.
