Oh dear. I’m sorry. Where I live (in the States) “jock” is a term applied to extremely athletic types who don’t show an interest in studying. If it is a pejorative term about people from Scotland, then I participated in this thread without realizing that, although I now see that some hints were given. I simply could not figure out what on earth was being talked about.
The other word you used, lochin, is a pejorative term where I live and one would not ever use it.
We are not to use pejorative terms for anyone on these forums. I don’t know what these words mean to people living in other places. I just don’t want anyone to think I would participate in using or overlooking the use of derogatory language.
Cynth you got it in one, Jock and Mick are equally insulting terms. I should have includeded a phrase to say I mean no offense to the vast majority of Irish or of Irish descent, and that I meant nothing more than returning a bit banter.
