about a week ago i received a B non-tunable whistle from mack. i wanted the key of B as i play a B uilleann chanter and i thought it would make learning tunes in that key easier to learn off of the C D. also i want the B scale and tones, burnt into my brain like D is.
this whistle is just pure and sweet. it has a good volume and yet is a bit quite, i think it has a timbre that is just pure quality and seems to carry in a special way. it can also be played in a reedy sounding fashion if one wishes.
it’s constructed of cream coloured pvc, it’s really a 14 1/8 long white cap, with tone holes. there is something special about the key of B.
