Announcing the Great Northern Irish Pipers’ Club Tionol for 2005! Dates are May 21 and 22nd. The event will again be held in beautiful and historic St. Paul, Minnesota , USA. We continue to build on three years of solid tionoil, and we are proud to announce that this year’s guest pipers will be two greats: David Power and Tommy Martin!
Attendees can count on two days packed with workshops (both piping and reedmaking) as well as a concert Saturday evening, followed by a swell party. For those who can’t bear to leave, there will be an excellent session on Sunday night.

Excellent. I am really going to try and make it up there this year. As it falls on my Birthday (May 22), I might be able to use that fact as leverage to make it.
I’m going to see if SWMBO will let the leash out and allow me to see what Minnesota looks like in the pre-summer; any recommendations on airlines from Ontario or LAX, other than they have to takeoff safely, not drop out the sky and land safely??? If I do go, any place close I can do some fly fishing???

Yes indeedy! Pickeral Lake is a mile from my house/the tionol, and the Mississippi is just yards from that. Both these bodies hold a who’s who of Upper Midwest gamefish.
Oh, and running between the waters mentioned above is an excellent bike riding/training course. All the teams use it.
We will have registration info up soon. I am thinking the fee would be in the $35-$50 range. Concert around $10-15 (may be included in workshop fees)
The club is going to hammer out the details this weekend.
If it helps, every effort will be made to house visiting pipers in the homes of local pipers…or pipe sympathizers.
